Hassan's Secrets...

No Transparency. Bloated Budgets... Hassan Has Gone Washington.

Maggie Hassan

Why is Hassan Hiding?

The purpose of government is to serve the people, but it can only effectively do so when our elected officials are transparent. Sadly, Maggie Hassan has been a downright failure at ensuring the office of the governor is open and accessible. She has declined to respond to countless Right-to-Know requests from the media and concerned citizens. She has refused to hold a single Town Hall meeting with her constituents. She even wants to hire a Chief Operating Officer to do her job for her so she can hide from her responsibilities and pursue other opportunities to benefit her own political career.

We’re here with an important task: To provide Granite Staters with the facts on why is Hassan might be hiding from them.

What has the media been saying about Hassan's lack of transparency?

What has the media been saying about Hassan's disastrous budget that raises taxes and increases spending?

"The people of New Hampshire expect and deserve the office of the governor to be as open and accessible as possible."

- Gov. Maggie Hassan

Sounds logical, right? In fact, it actually seems like government transparency is one of the few areas in modern politics where all Granite Staters, regardless of ideology, could find common ground. Gov. Maggie Hassan is correct in her premise that the people of New Hampshire deserve two things: openness and accessibility. However, despite the aforementioned quote from the governor being predominantly displayed in the opening paragraph of her taxpayer-funded website, our state’s chief executive has failed to meet even her own two parameters necessary for transparency.

As Granite Staters, we pride ourselves on our independence and the fact we have varying views on the many important issues facing our state and country. Yet, regardless of our differences, there seems to be a single thread that binds us all together - a mutually held disgust that the political culture in Washington and in Concord is broken. We rightfully are tired of elected officials saying one thing, but doing another. We are sick of them believing they don't have to live by the same rules they expect others to abide by. Put simply, we have no use for hypocrisy, and rightfully so. Regrettably, our own Governor Maggie Hassan is shaping up to be hypocrisy's greatest offender.
